Top 4 Sunset Places in Manuel Antonio

[ess_post]

Without a doubt, the sunsets in Costa Rica rank as some of the most amazing in the world and each evening, tourists and locals alike put aside their tasks to give thanks for another day lives and to bid farewell to a blazing sun. These nightly shows often lead to a round of applause as the last bit of light is cancelled out by the horizon, rendering the colors and shadows stunningly brilliant. Located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is home to some of the most stunning and colorful lightshows that any traveler could ever hope to see.  And whether you want to watch the sunset with your toes in the sand or with your favorite libation in hand, here are some of our favorite spots to watch the sun go down:

Ronny’s Place:

Located in the middle of a family-owned and operated 90 acre farm, Ronny’s Place offers one of the best and only sunset views all 365 days of the year. Getting there is part of the fun as you make your way down a bumpy gravel road, ultimately leading you to a series of tables with world class views. A spectacular sunset view comes with friendly, attentive service and a small but tempting menu best accompanied by their famous passion fruit sangria. It’s best to arrive early as this “rancho” restaurant tends to fill up with tourists looking to capture that majestic sunset.

Runaway Grill: Marina Pez Vela:

Situated in the newly constructed Marina Pez Vela, Runaway Grill Bar & Restaurant is a welcomed addition to the Quepos and Manuel Antonio nightlife. Formerly known as “El Gran Escape”, this legendary restaurant re-opened it’s doors under the name of Runaway Grill after it moved to what we have named the second best sunset spot in the ara.  This breezy, open-aired second story restaurant offers ocean-view seating and a warm ambience. Both fishermen retiring from a long day of pulling in catches and tourists alike can enjoy the international menu. The happy hour from 5-7 pm is not to be missed and offers both front row seats to a fantastic sunset view as well as deals on tapas and drinks to help you unwind. Bring a friend, enjoy the fish tacos and sip on your favorite cocktail while enjoying the colorful show of light.

Restaurant La Luna: Gaia Hotel

Often referred to by some as the best cuisine around, Restaurant La Luna at Gaia Hotel offers superb cuisine with a 180 degree panoramic vista of the Pacific coastline and surrounding rain forest.  Your trip to the restaurant is an adventure in itself. Gaia Hotel staff will whisk you away in one of their golf carts and tour you through the property. Make sure to stop and soak in your surroundings and keep an eye out for the colorful feathers of the Scarlet Macaw, one of the most recent environmental protection programs directed through Gaia Hotel. Once in the Ambar Lounge, enjoy a lively Happy Hour from 4-6pm where you’ll enjoy live Latin music, select tapas, a 25% discount on all drinks and panoramic sunset views.
